My name is Jackie and I am a License Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan. I am the founder of Guiding Star Counseling PLLC, incorporated in 2024. I received my Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Michigan-Flint and my Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where I specialized in interpersonal practice in health, mental health, and substance abuse. I have experience working in various settings including high school and university environments, emergency departments, school based mental health, and working with crisis intervention. I have worked with clients facing the challenges of COVID-19, through life transitions, with young athletes, in nursing care with those experiencing grief and loss, and across the spectrum of mental health crisis intervention.
